This is precisely where the concept of "digital process chains" comes in, which Roland Riethmüller, Chairman of the Board of the German Association for Digital Construction (BDBau), presented at the "ConstructionSummit" conference.

The basic idea behind the digital process chain: Individual startups are strategically networked along a construction project to seamlessly integrate digital technologies. This results in practical, efficient, and scalable solutions for the industry. "No single company can manage the digital transformation of the construction industry alone. Smart collaborations are needed to achieve real efficiency gains," emphasizes Riethmüller.

Together with Timo Schroeder, CEO of the startup rehub, he illustrated the concept using concrete use cases. Whether roof extensions or new building developments – both scenarios demonstrated how specifically designed digital process chains can unlock innovation potential and make construction projects more efficient.

Best practices for practical application

BDBau is relying on a best-practice approach that strategically brings member companies together at various stages of the process. Startups from the ConTech sector are linked in such a way that their technologies mesh seamlessly and generate real added value. "Through this networking, we are not only creating efficiency gains, but also a new level of digital collaboration in the construction industry," Riethmüller continued.
