Description
- The biggest current challenge in the German (social) housing market is the provision of affordable housing.
- The core problems are excessively high construction costs and excessively long construction times.
- In 2020, the share of apartments created through serial construction was just 1% (out of a total of 300,000 apartments).
- There are already several suppliers in the modular construction sector (based largely on serial production).
- However, there is often a lack of flexibility here.
Problem solving
- The start-up SYSTEMISCHES BAUEN 4.0 sees itself as a pioneer in the field of modular construction, i.e. standardized wall and ceiling elements.
- A novel sandwich-like building element system consisting of UHPC and mineral foam was developed – the materials themselves are not new, but the method of construction is.
- The goal is to plan and build residential buildings from a component catalog with approximately 300 different component geometries, resulting in a significant reduction in construction costs and construction time.
- The central element is a smart factory where the components are produced – the automotive industry serves as a model.
